Despite All My Rage I am Still Just a Rat in a Cage
Well, I have not kept up on the blogging as much as I would have liked. Real, paid work, got in the way of this. I still hope to keep this blog relevant, and who knows maybe make it a popular read.
Anyways, the subject of this particular blog is my feeling that I have something unique, and important to say but so far nobody really gives a fuck. Wah wah, woo is me right? I have a few ideas on the horizon, and I've really learned a lot in my last couple years of writing a book, and reporting/freelance writing for newspapers. I have confidence in my writing, and while I'm always trying to improve on my B- grammar, I think my writing style is very solid.
With that said, I feel like I'm waiting for my big break. I hate waiting, I'm trying to do different things to break out but so far no go. When I was shopping the book around to different media outlets for an interview, I realized that with a book title like mine I would need to be famous to get any traction. I even had a douche bag radio station DJ, ask for a copy of the book, which I brought to him, and then he never returned a single call or email after that. Even after I asked him to return the Free copy that he had.
So what hurt the book? I think the name did to some extent, but the name also made the book sound interesting. What I really think hurt the book was the politically incorrect ideas that were talked about. I'm an unapologetic Atheist. That doesn't go over well in a brainwashed country that is ruled by a fake sky god, and an irrelevant idea of a Jesus figure.
The book also came out kind of shorter than it probably should have. In hindsight I should have spent a few more months on it, and pushed it to a solid one-hundred pages. I also should have done a more thorough editing job, and let someone with better grammar than mine look it over.
My point with all of this is that I won't give up. It might take me a little longer than I wanted but I will be successful. "Live to Win, Dare to Fail" that is my motto and I am sticking to it. Well, your doing something that's an uphill battle, but if you believe in it, don't give up. I'm going to do that with music. Never give in man, you got the book published. Did you get alot of media attention no? Fuck it though, consider it the demo. Now's time to put out the Masterpiece, the platinum album! \m/!!!
