Scab Referees Should Be Banned

So any football fan who has watched this NFL season thus far has seen the difference between professional NFL Refs and people who are not. The Replacement Refs or as I like to call them the "Scab" Refs are people who either did not have the experience yet to be an NFL Ref or couldn't cut it and have worked at Division II, III or Pee-Wee League Football games.

This past week several coaches were fined and several more are under review for "disrespecting officials" during the game or making comments about the terrible officiating in post game press conferences. Lets remember that coaches are paid to win, and when you lose because you have amateurs making lousy calls or sometimes not making any calls I would think they would have the right to be pissed about that.

The media keeps putting out these articles that say "Well we may not like the Replacement Refs but while they are here we have to respect them and let them do there jobs and so should the coaches and players." I call bullshit on that. The players are part of a Union, and so are the Coaches, they shouldn't show these scabs any respect. Fuck those guys for crossing the picket line and taking the quick buck. I know it isn't the coaches and the players making the decision to not pay these officials, they have no control over that aspect but they do have control over how they treat scabs.

Players and coaches alike should make it their duty to call out every bad call or non-call every game until the NFL does the right thing and settles their labor dispute. I think you are starting to see it, and it will hopefully keep getting worse for these scab officials. If just a couple of coaches or a couple of players do this the league will just keep fining and warning them but if everyone does it the league will have no choice but to do something about it and pay up because as the old saying goes, "You can't fire everyone", or in this case you can't fine everyone if they are all calling out these scab officials on their amateur mistakes.

I'm not going to even get into the fact that the NFL is a multi-billion dollar industry and the pay raise that the Referee Union is asking for is miniscule anyone with half a brain knows that it comes down to money, and the NFL is being greedy, stupid, and petty so I won't get into that to much here.

The thing that I really do not see anyone saying or talking about is the fact that these Replacement Refs are basically Union breaking "Scabs". If you are unfamiliar with the term a "Scab" is someone who crosses the picket line and performs the job that the people in the union are striking and not doing.

So what I want to see after this strike is settled is that these Replacement Refs are banned by the NFL Refs union from ever being able to get a job as a full fledged Referee. Maybe this will happen, I am not sure if that Union would do that or if they can but they definitely should be able to. That way the next time the Ref Union wants a nickel raise they don't have to worry about some D-League asshole Ref coming in and getting a pay raise for themselves while fucking over other people who do their job professionaly.

You make it clear that this will not be tolerated and that if you cross this strike you will never be a Professional Referee. You think the Replacement Refs are bad now, just wait til they have to scrap the bottom of the barrel if there is a next time because these lower league officials with professional aspirations will know that if they cross the picket line they will be banned.
