The Real Problem With Obamacare
Well it seems like this may be late in the day to be giving a definitive position about"Obamacare" or The Affordable Care Act but I think it's the perfect time. Unlike a lot of people I kept a fairly open mind about this piece of legislation. I did not rush to judgement and give Republican talking points or Democratic talking points about how bad or good it would be. Time has now passed and I think it's safe to say the world of healthcare has caught up with the legislation and it is how it is going to be with Obamacare.
With that preamble out of the way I have to say that Obamacare has been a disaster. It has given more people healthcare coverage but it has made healthcare coverage in general way worse. Premiums are more expensive, deductibles are outrageous, Co-pays are higher, any non-basic medicine or procedure is now challenged or not covered by the insurance companies.
Before Obamacare millions more people didn't have insurance and you would think it would be a good thing that they are now covered. In a perfect world the money insurance companies and doctors offices are saving by not having the high cost of non-insured people going to convenient care would make the insurance better and cheaper. WRONG. It has become just the opposite. Because these insurance companies can do whatever they want as long as they have everyone covered they go unchecked.
So what is the alternative? The only alternative is to have Universal Healthcare, "Healthcare for Everyone". That is what every reasonable country in the world has. These companies shouldn't be allowed to profit off of the death and the bad health of U.S citizens.
I wanted to believe Obamacare was a progressive thing that was a small step away from Universal Healthcare but really it's a handjob to the insurance companies and it pretty much fucks everyone.
